Specifications – Roving Rails
When Durban Modular Railroaders lost its premises and the bulk of its members moved on to concentrate on their own layouts there was a shortage of portable layouts to show off at exhibitions. Roving Rails was established to fill that gap. Eventually however the members of Roving Rails went their own way with modules being sold. The corner ones for example ended up at Inchanga station on Jeremy Hawthorn’s layout. These have since been replaced and together with the remaining original modules are being re-erected on a more permanent basis at the same premises as the North Star Railway.
In order to give those who are unfamiliar with Roving Rails some idea of what is involved, the link below provides details of the original module specifications.
